The second game against the Warriors of the season was a tense affair as they held us to a 3 point win last meeting and proved to be a tough and talented side. Warriors were 6 points ahead and flashback to the previous game came to mind but the tenacity of Marko saw him bag all 9 points in this quarter. Before the game started Marko stated he wanted a 30 point game and he was certainly going all out to get this. Some better defending and full court pressure was giving Leicester problems with Sam VO running point, Jake, Ross & Sam T giving all on “D” and offence, the better team work from earlier in the season was evident.

As the full court pressure seemed to be working successfully the tactic was to stick with it. This seemed to favour the Sharks as Warriors were held to a 4 point quarter. Two baskets from Sam T & George and 1 a piece from Paddy and Marko gave us 12 to 4 score. Coaches were a lot happier this game.

Sam T continued to dominate on offensive rebounds scoring another 2 baskets and making 1 from 2 at the line. Marko once again stole the points with 10 personal. The only blip in this was that he missed 6 from 6 at the line.

Fourth quarter saw pretty much the same as the rest of the game. Full court pressure was applied and the Warriors were struggling. Once again we out scored them by 18-3 this quarter. Eight points from Marko, 6 from Sam T, 2 from Sam B, and 2 from Sam VO sealed this win.

There is a saying that sums up this win,

“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall”

After the defeat to Derby the Sharks re-grouped and pulled together to go out stronger and have the desire to win.
