Sharks vs Ilkeston Outlaws

The second game of the season was against Ilkeston Outlaws. What they lacked in height they certainly made up for in speed and ball handling skills. Another new boy Sam Thompson got this game of to a good start with 2 baskets. Sam V.O, George, Ross and Marko also got baskets this quarter. A good start as the Sharks led this quarter by 20-2.

As the Outlaws were a small side it was only fitting that we put on our smaller squad members. This seemed to be a better match up than previous. Paddy, Alex and Joel scored in this quarter and some good point guard work by Nathaniel made all the difference as it allowed his team to score. Sharks outscored the Outlaws by 12-0.

The third quarter saw Alex and Xavier get on to the score sheet and Sam V.O hitting a 3 pointer. Hard defence by Cameron held the Outlaws to 21 – 5.

All in all a good game and the Outlaws made a good effort and we had to work hard to beat them.
